WhatsApp AI for online stores, South Africa
Your shop, inside WhatsApp
IndunAI answers your customers on WhatsApp and your website chat. When someone asks about a product, it can show them the matching products from your Shopify store as cards they swipe through, each with its photo, name and price and a button to its page on your store.
Built, and off until switched on. The shop cards are new: they are switched on for one of our demos and not yet for a customer's store, so book a demo and ask to see them.
online, replies in seconds
Hi, do you sell a lunch box that keeps things cold?12:14
We do. Here are two from our online shop.12:14
An illustration of the pattern. The products, photos and prices come from the store's own catalogue, and each button opens the product's page on the store.
Product cards
Product carousels in the chat.
A customer who asks about a product on WhatsApp usually gets a typed answer and a link, or nothing until morning. The assistant can answer in the same minute and show the products themselves, as cards they swipe through without leaving the chat.
Your catalogue, read from your store
The assistant reads your Shopify store's public product list, the whole catalogue or one collection, up to 5,000 products, and refreshes it every twelve hours unless you choose otherwise. Nobody retypes your catalogue.
Cards, not a wall of links
Two or more matching products go as a WhatsApp carousel: a card each with the product's photo, name and price and a Shop now button that opens its page on your store. A single product goes as one card, and a product with no photo goes as a line of text, because WhatsApp needs a photo on every card.
A few at a time
It shows three products by default and never more than ten, which is the most WhatsApp allows in one carousel. The same product is not handed out twice in one conversation.
A Products button on the menu
Put Products on the assistant's opening menu, and a tap opens your store's own categories, up to nine of them. A category tap shows that range as cards.
Matched to what they asked
A product is shown when the message names it or its brand, or when the customer is plainly shopping and names the kind of thing it is. A passing mention is not treated as a request.
Only ever a reply
The cards go only in answer to a customer who has written to you, inside WhatsApp's 24-hour window. They are never sent cold.
Product questions
Answering product questions.
Many shop questions are not about one product at all. They are about delivery, returns, sizing and how to pay, and the assistant answers them from what you tell it, at any hour.
Answers from what you write
Your delivery areas and times, returns policy, payment options and anything else you want answered go in as knowledge cards. It replies in the customer's language, and it transcribes and answers WhatsApp voice notes.
Names and prices, not descriptions or stock
From your store it takes each product's name, photo, price, brand, type and tags. It does not read descriptions or stock levels, so it cannot say whether a size is in stock; that is a question for a person or for your product page.
Prices the AI does not type
The price and link on each card are written by the software from your store's catalogue, and the AI is told not to type prices, links or product names itself. Where a product has variants, the card shows the lowest price.
A person when it matters
Complaints, refunds, a parcel that has not arrived: you list the topics it hands to a person, and anyone who asks for a person gets one, with the whole conversation in your dashboard. With WhatsApp's coexistence option your team can keep answering from the WhatsApp Business app on the same number.
The rest of what it does on WhatsApp is on the WhatsApp AI chatbot page.
What it does not do
What it does not do.
The shop cards show products and send people to your store. Everything after that happens on your store, the way it does now.
No orders, carts or payments
It does not take orders, build a cart or collect payment in WhatsApp. The Shop now button opens the product on your store, and the customer checks out there.
No order tracking
It cannot look up an order or say where a parcel is. Give it your delivery times to explain, and have it hand tracking questions to your team.
Shopify only
The catalogue is read from a Shopify store. WooCommerce, Takealot and other platforms are not connected; another platform would be a custom build, scoped and priced as a project.
WhatsApp first
The swipeable cards are a WhatsApp feature. In the chat on your website, the same products arrive as lines with each product's name, price and link.
Switched on with you
The shop is part of setting the assistant up rather than a setting in your dashboard today: we switch it on and point it at your store with you.
FAQ
Fair questions.
Can customers pay in WhatsApp?
No. The assistant does not take orders or payments for your shop. Each product card has a Shop now button that opens the product's page on your store, and the customer pays through your store's own checkout.
Which store platforms does it work with?
Shopify. It reads the public product list a Shopify store publishes, with no app to install and no key to hand over. Other platforms are not connected; that would be a custom build, scoped and priced as a project.
How does it know my products?
It reads your store's product list, the whole catalogue or one collection, and refreshes it every twelve hours unless you choose an interval between one hour and a week. It takes each product's name, photo, price, brand, type and tags. Delivery, returns and the rest come from what you tell it.
Can it tell customers where their order is?
No. It has no connection to your orders or your courier. It can explain your delivery times from what you tell it and hand tracking questions to your team.
Will it message customers who have not written to us?
No. The product cards go only in reply to someone who has messaged you, inside WhatsApp's 24-hour window. They are never sent cold.
What does it cost?
From R1 450 a month including VAT for up to 300 conversations, plus a once-off R2 500 setup; 300 to 500 conversations is R2 250 a month. Managed, at R4 995 a month with setup included, covers 2,000 conversations and build items within reason, such as another store platform; bigger work is scoped in writing and priced once you have signed up. Meta's WhatsApp fees are separate. Ask us what switching the product cards on for your store involves.
See the shop cards in a real chat.
Book a demo and we will show you the cards in WhatsApp, then talk through what your store would need.
Written the same way: what it does, what it does not, and how to check it yourself.
